A DUDLEY gallery is hosting an exhibition of paintings which are being sold in secret to raise cash for a good cause.

Artspace in Birdcage Walk is currently showing off the work of the late Peter Topham and holding a secret auction of the paintings to support Macmillan nurses.

The exhibition will be open on Thursdays and Fridays throughout February from 10am to 5pm and from February 22 will be open on Saturdays 11am to 4pm.

Mr Topham’s daughter-in-law, Carol Topham, said: “Peter took up painting as a hobby when he retired. He attended art classes and became a member of the Walsall Society of Artists, with whom he exhibited his work at the New Walsall Art Gallery.

"He was a great traveller and the paintings are from his own photographs that he took on his visits to many places around the world.”

To buy a painting people should call at Artspace and make a sealed bid.
