A MAN suspected of carrying out burglaries across the West Midlands is behind bars after being caught by police allegedly trying to break into a Dudley home.
Christopher Burchell, of no fixed address, is accused of rummaging through the property in Halton Street, Netherton, on Monday afternoon (February 17), having forced open a rear window.
Upon his arrest detectives also quizzed the 43-year-old over burglaries in Yorkminster Drive, Chelmsley Wood, on November 14 and at the home of a pensioner in Brabazon Grove, Castle Vale, on October 9.
Unemployed Burchell appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday) charged with three counts of burglary and was remanded into prison ahead of his next appearance at Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 18.
