THE next phase of Dudley town centre’s regeneration is being thrown open for comments from members of the public.

Dudley Council’s cabinet approved a consultation on the Dudley Area Action Plan which will be the long-term strategy for development until 2026.

The consultation will run for six weeks from Monday March 17 to gather peoples’ views on subjects like housing, open spaces and what kinds of shops and restaurants would be popular in the central area.

Cllr Judy Foster, Dudley cabinet member for regeneration, said: “The area action plan for Dudley is a really important piece of work. It’s clear to see that Dudley town centre has already started its regeneration journey but what we want to do now is identify, with the help of the public, where Dudley should be in the future.

“I hope people contribute positively to the consultation so that we can all be proud of what is delivered from now until 2026 to ensure the town’s heritage and character is retained as well as ensuring it is fit for modern day living right now and for future generations.”

Anyone wishing to take part will be able to complete a questionnaire online at Dudley Council’s website, copies will also be available at Dudley Council Plus in Castle Street, Dudley Library and Dudley Museum.
