SEDGELY Beacon could be in for extra help if plans for a new friends group get off the ground.
A public meeting to discuss forming a friends group will take place at the Ex-servicemen’s Club, The Walk, Sedgley, on Thursday March 27, starting at 7.154pm.
Campaigners planning to seek funding for help with improvements and management of the area say they will be more successful if they apply as an organised group of volunteers which can work with public organisations like Dudley Council.
Sedgley Tina Westwood, Sedgley said: “Sedgley Beacon is an inspirational space for residents and visitors to celebrate and enjoy heritage, landscape and the natural environment. With the formation of a friends group it will be possible to attract grants from various bodies to maintain the area.
“I would urge anybody with an interest to attend this meeting.”
