BOROUGH daredevils are being challenged to unleash their inner superhero for a fundraising drive with a difference.

St John Ambulance are urging people to sign up for its superhero skydive in June to help raise much-needed funds.

In conjunction with Skyline Promotions, the charity is giving people the chance to complete both the training and the jump in one day.

While harnessed to an experienced parachute jumper, fundraisers will sky dive from 10,000 feet, free-fall for up to 5,000 feet and reach speeds of up to 120mph while dressed in their favourite superhero costume.

Anyone who is 16 or over can jump for free by paying a registration fee of £70 and raising a minimum of £395 for the charity.

Siobhan Clifford, regional fundraising co-ordinator for the charity , said: "At St John Ambulance we believe nothing is more tragic than a life lost needlessly. That’s why we’re dedicated to equipping as many people as possible with the skills to be the difference between life and death.

"But to do that we need donations and people to support us through fundraising events such as this."
