FUNDRAISERS will be stepping out in their animal onesies for a sponsored walk at Dudley Zoo.

The wander around the zoo's 40 acre site on Saturday (May 3) will coincide with Get Walking Week and help save one of the world's rarest big cats.

Walkers will also be able to see their favourite species en-route during the 2km, 5km or 10km treks.

Proceeds will be split between the zoo's conservation projects and 21st Century Tiger, a charity that supports tigers in the wild.

The zoo's marketing assistant, Andrea Hales, said: “Not only will you be discovering the pleasures of walking and its health benefits, but you’ll also be raising money towards critically endangered Sumatran tigers in the wild, where there are now less than 140 existing.

“Staff have been practising for the walk over the last few weeks by wearing their onesies while carrying out their daily duties.

“We’re all really looking forward to it, so we hope many of you will join us and help us do all we can to ensure the survival of Sumatrans.”
