THREE pedestrians were injured after they were hit by cars in two separate incidents in Dudley last night (Monday).

A man in his 30s suffered a head injury following a collision on Queens Cross at 9.20pm and two teenage girls were struck by a vehicle in Upper Gornal, at 10pm.

Witnesses to the first crash told paramedics that the man had collided with the car, leaving damage to the bumper and windscreen.

The man was unconscious when ambulance crews arrived but came round before he was taken to the major trauma centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

His condition has been described as stable and the woman driving the car was uninjured.

Just 40 minutes later, six 999 calls were received after two teens were hit by a red Vauxhall Corsa on Valley Road.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The teenage girls were sitting on the pavement with a large number of people at the scene.

“A 14-year-old girl was taken to Russells Hall Hospital with suspected fracture to her ankle and a 13-year-old was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with a potentially serious hip injury.

"The driver of the car, a man in his late teens or early 20s, was unhurt.”
