FUNDRAISERS are invited to take part in a fun run in aid of a Brierley Hill man who lost his battle with leukaemia.

Before Neal Wood passed away in July 2009, aged 24, he made his mother, Lynn, promise to raise money to help other young people cope with the disease.

Mrs Wood, aged 52, kept her promise and to date, the family have raised almost £25,000 for Leukaemia Research, the Georgina Unit at Russells Hall Hospital and The Willow Foundation.

They will hold their fifth annual fun run at the Dell Stadium, Pensnett, on Sunday June 8.

From 1pm, people can run, jump or hop around the track as many times as they like - four laps is equivalent to one mile.

Entry fee is £5 for adult runners and £2 for children and everyone that takes part will receive a medal.

Visitors will also be able to take part in penalty shoot-outs, play darts, take a chance on the tombola and jump on the bouncy castle.

Refreshments will also be available.
