DUDLEY people are being urged to nominate their local heroes for recognition at a prestigious borough awards ceremony in October.
People and groups from across the region have eleven weeks to nominate individual volunteers or voluntary groups for a chance to scoop a gong at the Dudley Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) 2014 Volunteer Awards.
The awards are divided into categories including community action, children and families, health and wellbeing, sport plus the environment and community safety.
Young volunteers will also be honoured with an award for under 25s in memory of former Dudley CVS chairman Gordon Lindsay.
The closing date for nominations is Friday August 22, for more information visit www.dudleycvs.org.uk
