DUDLEY’S education chief has congratulated the borough’s class of 2014 on GCSE results which were released today (August 21).

Students across the region found out how they had performed in their exams while schools discovered where they will stand in all-important league tables.

Dudley region results show pupils at Bishop Milner Catholic College in Burton Road were on top form where 85 per cent got five or more passes at grades A* to C with 66 per cent of those including English and maths.

Ellowes Hall Sports College also delivered impressive results - 78 per cent of its students collected five or more A* to C passes, with 73 per cent including English and maths.

Councillor Tim Crumpton, Dudley cabinet member for children’s services, said: “I would like to congratulate all pupils who have received their results today and wish them every success for the future.

“I would like to personally thank all the pupils, parents, staff and governors for their support in achieving these results.”

Bishop Milner’s sixth form progress leader, David Handy, said: “There have been an outstanding number of individual performances this year, on behalf of the directors and staff of the college we would like to congratulate all of our GCSE students on their examination results.”

Other results published from the Dudley region include: The Dormston School (58 per cent A* to C, 53 per cent including English and maths), Hillcrest School and Community College (61 per cent A* to C, 52 per cent including English and maths), High Arcal School (52% A* to C, 44 per cent including English and maths) and Holly Hall Academy (47 per cent A* to C, 38 per cent including English and maths).
