DUDLEY borough folk can find out ways to save money and obtain other top financial tips by attending a public meeting next week.

Castle and Crystal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial co-operative, will be available to speak with residents attending Gornal, Upper Gornal and Woodsetton community forum next Monday, September 1.

Experts will be on hand to advise on savings accounts and ways of borrowing money.

Cllr Stuart Turner, Dudley Council's cabinet member for finance, said: "They offer a much better alternative to any of these pay day loan lenders.

"We hope people will find the advice they give at the community forum informative and helpful, especially in these tough times we find ourselves in."

The forum is one of ten taking place at venues across the borough. There will also be a Facebook community forum available via the Dudley borough page on August 28 from 6pm to 7pm.

Netherton, Woodside and St Andrews plus Quarry Bank and Dudley Wood community forum takes place on September 1 at Quarry Bank Community Centre, Sheffield Street.

Gornal, Upper Gornal and Woodsetton's forum takes place on the same night at Upper Gornal Pensioner's Club in Kent Street, Dudley.

Creating a community forum with useful financial tips is a great idea! Nowadays there are a lot of lending services and I think the customer should be given the opportunity to compare what different lenders are offering. Each lender will score you based on different criteria depending on how closely you meet their 'perfect customer' wish list. This famous service is also helpful in choosing the best way to solve your financial problems.
