A DUDLEY based animal rescue is celebrating its second anniversary with a charity dog show.

Ravens Rescue is encouraging owners to bring their cherished pooches along and take part.

The fun starts at 11am on Sunday (September 7) at the home of South Staffordshire Horse Show on A449, Prestwood Drive, opposite Prestwood Nursing Home, in Stourton.

Classes will include best puppy, dog with the most beautiful eyes, best fancy dress, dog most like their owner and best rescue dog.

Energetic pooches can also try their paws at an agility class against the clock.

All entries will receive a doggy goodie bag and winning dogs will receive trophies.

Admission to the show is free but there is a £1 entry fee for each class.

Visitors will also be able to browse charity and craft stalls.

All proceeds will help Ravens Rescue, which formed in 2012, to look after the homeless cats and dogs in its care and continue to save local pets from neglect and abuse.

To date, the rescue has rehomed 74 dogs and 111 cats.

Co-founder, Sarah Harris, said: “Events like this are such an important way for us to raise money to help us continue our work rescuing and caring for abused and abandoned animals, especially when more and more cats and dogs than ever are in need of our help.

"Our dog show promises to be a brilliant fun day and we want lots of people to come along with their dogs to support us and celebrate our anniversary with us – the more the merrier."
