A SEDGLEY-based sight loss charity is offering people a chance to see if their antiques are valuable.

The Beacon Centre will be hosting a valuation day when experts from auctioneers Cuttlestones will be on hand to value visitors’ family heirlooms, collectibles and memorabilia.

The event will be held at the charity’s Wolverhampton Road East headquarters on Saturday September 20 from 10am to 2pm.

People bringing items for valuation will be asked to make a donation of £3, funds raised will be used to help visually impaired people in the West Midlands.

Lucy Barton, from The Beacon Centre, said: “Perhaps you have an old clock, a collection of paintings, or a box of Elvis records that you’ve been meaning to get valued – our valuation day is the perfect place to bring them along, and, for a small donation, our fantastic team of auctioneers will tell you a little about the history of your item and how much it’s worth.

“With more than 167,000 people in the West Midlands living with vision impairment, all fundraising events such as this, are vitally important to ensure we continue to offer the finest facilities and support.”

All items can be taken in on the day, anyone taking larger items including furniture is asked to call 01902 880 111 in advance to book storage space.
