HUNDREDS of Dudley people joined civic leaders for the borough’s tribute to heroes who fought in the Battle of Britain.
The regions commemorative parade took place in Dudley town centre on September 21 and included a parade from Priory Road, though the town centre to St Thomas and St Luke’s Church.
The church hosted a civic service of remembrance, led by Reverend Canon Judith Oliver, before a wreath laying ceremony at the cenotaph in Ednam Road.
Councillor Margaret Aston, Mayor of Dudley, said: “I’m so pleased that so many people turned out to take part in the proceedings and help mark this very important occasion.
“I would like to say a very big thank you to all the young cadets from the Air Training Corps and their commanding officers, for providing such a professional and well coordinated parade.”
