A WOMAN was treated for minor injuries after a car ended up in a ditch by a brook in Woodsetton.

All three emergency services attended the incident where the car had left the road at 9.15pm on October 9 in Park Road near the Branford Arms pub.

Police arrived to find the female driver of the vehicle, a green Ford Focus, was trapped in the car while a male was in a brook at the bottom of the ditch.

Fire officers from Dudley and Wednesbury were sent to the scene along with water rescue specialist firefighters from Perry Bar.

The woman was removed from the car and treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton for further assessment.

Firefighters made the car safe and left the scene at around 10.05pm.

West Midlands Police confirmed a woman in her 40s was arrested and charged with suspected drink driving in connection with the incident.
