ROCK ‘n’ roll legend Joe Brown is heading to Dudley with a new show next month.

Joe began his career playing for Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran and Johnny Cash, before starting his own band and headlining many venues, supported by The Beatles.

He’s starred in musicals and films and has frequently appeared on TV, including three series of The Joe Brown Show.

More recently he has performed at Glastonbury, on Later with Jools Holland and put in a moving performance at the Concert for George, in tribute to George Harrison.

This tour features Joe alongside his five piece band, including his son and record producer Pete Brown, and musicians Phil Capaldi, Mike Nichols and Richard Collins.

They will be performing a range of styles and breaking musical boundaries, with guitars, mandolins, ukuleles, banjo and drums featuring in the mix.

The show is packed with timeless classics, rockabilly, gospel, country, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll, all interwoven humorous reminiscences and warm banter.

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “Joe Brown is a music legend, with a career spanning 50 years.

“We’re really happy that Joe is coming to Dudley to perform this upbeat show and entertain fans with an eclectic range of pieces reflecting his 50 years experience in the music industry.”

Tickets for the 7.30pm show at Dudley Town Hall on Saturday November 15 cost £25.
