CROWDS packed Dudley Town Hall to hear the popular Gentlemen Songsters male voice choir feature at the town's annual Festival of Remembrance.

Accompanied by Phoenix West Midlands Brass under the guidance of musical director Craig Stevens, the choir performed some of the favourite pieces.

The concert also featured singer Natasha Harper while choir member Ian Rawlings enhanced his growing reputation as a comedian when he acted as master of ceremonies.

Proceedings started with a moving memorial service led by the Rev Andrew Wickens, while the audience sang hymns.

Dudley folk again showed their generosity by raising almost £1,000 by the sale of union jacks for the concert along with a bucket collection.

The Gentlemen Songsters are set for a return to Dudley Town Hall on Saturday December 13 for the annual Christmas charity concert.

Tickets cost £10 by calling 01384 838863 or 0870 320 7000.
