A POPULAR Brierley Hill pub that has raised a staggering £6,200 for charity has reopened after a major refurbishment.

The Tenth Lock in Delph Road was closed for a week while it was kitted out with new kitchens, furniture and décor.

Chere Barnsley, who runs the pub, said: “We’ll be expanding our offerings with Mexican nights, grill nights, burger nights and curry nights, not to mention everything we do for the poker, karaoke, disco and quiz nights too.”

The pub may have a new look but staff will continue to raise funds for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Over the last five years the pub has pulled in more than £6,200 for the hospice in Oldswinford and has now been made an official charity partner.

Lucy Baylis, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: "We are so grateful to have the support of Chere and her team at the Tenth Lock.

"They’ve done a fantastic job of fundraising for us over the years.”
