SINGLE people interested in renting a shared property in Dudley are invited to find out more at an event today (Monday).

Dudley Council is working with CHADD to offer the opportunity of shared living to people aged between 18 and 34.

Anyone who has been living in the borough for at least two years, and is working or training, is invited to go along to the session, being held at 170-172 Old Park Road, Dudley, from 12noon until 7pm.

Shared properties provide tenants with a large lockable private bedroom, and living room, en-suite bathroom and other facilities, as well as a communal area for use with other residents.

Rental for the properties is around £93 per week, inclusive of most bills that would normally have to be paid separately.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing and community safety, said: “This is ideal for any young person who wants to make their first move to live independently from their family as it is cost effective and allows them to be surrounded by others in the same situation, providing support to each other.

“Dudley Council works with other housing suppliers, such as CHADD, to provide other options to the typical housing solutions, allowing more people access to a home of their own.”
