GOOD morning. Unfortunately it's now time to put the pancakes down and get back to work.

I’ll be keeping you updated on the latest travel and traffic news throughout the rush hour period across the Black Country and North Worcestershire.

9.00am - It's all been pretty quiet this morning with the usual traffic areas being the busiest. There has also not been many major overnight incidents for our emergency services to deal with.

I'll be back tomorrow morning from 7am, but as always we will also be here from 5pm with our evening rush hour traffic updates.

Have a good day everyone.

8.41am - As nothing new is happening on our roads, time to take a quick detour into today's weather updates.

We will be seeing the sun this morning, but it will become cloudy throughout the day. Staying mostly dry, but cloud may be thick enough to give some light rain and create a breeze. Maximum temperatures throughout the day will be about 9C.

Looking ahead to tonight and it will be generally cloudy and breezy, while fter midnight a band will be moving in, some of this heavy and persistent. Minimum temperatures will be a decent 5C.

The outlook for tomorrow brings rain, unfortunately.

8.14am - In Bromsgrove, traffic is slow on the M42 northbound between J1 (Bromsgrove) and J3a (M40), with travel time around 25 minutes.

8.08am - Between Scotts Green Island and Cider Bank Island on the A461 Dudley Southern Bypass traffic is busy but moving.

Also affected traffic on the A4101 Kingswinford Road and A459 Cider Bank.

8.05am - A broken down vehicle on the M6 southbound between J7 (Great Barr) and J6 (Aston Expressway) is leaving one lane closed and severe queuing traffic.

8.03am - The A4123 Wolverhampton Road eastbound in Oldbury is congested before Birchley Island and A4034 Churchbridge.

8.00am - Traffic is building and causing delays both ways on the A4101 High Street in Pensnett at the B4179 Commonside junction due to the ongoing roadworks.

7.57am - There’s congestion between Wyre Forest and Leominster on the A4112 Teme Street in Tenbury Wells. Traffic is busy but moving at the Tenbury Wells junction.

7.53am - In the early hours of this morning two HGVs were involved in a collision northbound on the M5 at junction 4a.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Droitwich attended.

7.39am - Meanwhile on the M6 northbound, traffic is also slow between J4 (Coleshill) and J5 (Castle Browwich).

7.37am - On the M42 northbound between J2 (Alvechurch) and J3 (Portway) traffic is slow.

7.28am - In Kidderminster, traffic is busy but moving both ways on the A456 Bewdley Hill at the Blakebrook junction.

7.19am - It's all pretty quiet on the traffic front this morning. There's slight congestion and queuing traffic on the M6 southbound between J10 (Wolverhampton) and M5 J8 (Birmingham) because of roadworks.

7.11am - Traffic is slow southbound on the A41 West Bromwich Expressway between the A4031 All Saints Way junction and the M5 J1 island.

This is due to drivers diverting away from the closure of the entry slip road at M6 J9 as well as the broken down vehicle at the M5 junction.

7.06am - As seems to be the case every morning we start the day with a broken down vehicle. This time it is on the M5, at the exit slip road southbound of J1 (West Bromwich). The incident has lead to one lane being closed and severe traffic warnings.

Keep checking back throughout the morning for the latest updates.
