A GROUP dedicated to supporting vulnerable adults in Dudley has secured a £296,000 grant.

The cash will help Dudley Advocacy fund a range of services over the next three years, for the benefit of people with mental health issues and learning disabilities.

Funding from the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Programme will also allow the group to increase the number of volunteers to help people get their voices heard and make informed choices on a range of issues in their lives.

Lynda Nock, chief officer of Dudley Advocacy said: “This is tremendous news for vulnerable adults in the Dudley area who need independent advocacy support to empower them and to ensure they are involved in decisions which affect their lives so they can be in control, be less socially isolated and feel safer.

"This funding will help fill some of the gaps in support that is much needed by some of the most vulnerable people in Dudley."
