CHARITY champions at a Brierley Hill bingo hall will rub shoulders with royalty as they celebrate helping to raise £500,000 for the Carers Trust.

Staff from Mecca Bingo will be in the company of HRH The Princess Royal when they attend an event being held at The Royal Horseguards Hotel tomorrow (Wednesday March 11).

The partnership between the charity and The Rank Group Plc, which owns Mecca and Grosvenor Casinos, began in February 2014 and saw the High Street club take part in a host of different activities to raise much-needed funds.

Natalie Holland, general manager at Mecca Brierley Hill, said: “It’s a real honour we are being recognised for the fundraising work we do. I can’t say thank you enough to our team members and kind-hearted customers who have helped support with all our fundraising efforts over the last year.

“There are no words to describe the importance of what these carers do in our community, and it’s an honour to know how much we’ve been able to help make life that little bit easier for them.”
