THE following appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court between April 27 and May 1:

Layla Marie Gould, aged 30, of High Street, Quarry Bank, was sent to prison for 20 weeks for stealing candles, worth £119.94, from Yankee Candle Store, Merry Hill, on April 25, while subject to a suspended sentence. She must pay a victim surcharge of £80 and £150 court costs.

Brodie Lee Wadrup, aged 25, of Caroline Street, Kates Hill, was fined £110 for causing £300 worth of damage to a kitchen door in Dudley on March 22 and failing to surrender to custody at Brierley Hill Police Station on April 19, having been released on bail. He must pay compensation of £300, a victim surcharge of £20 and £235 court costs.

David John Tromans, aged 28, of Marley Road, Kingswinford, was fined £110 for driving without a licence or insurance in Brierley Hill on June 20, 2014. He was given six penalty points and must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Susan Sabiha Austin, aged 56, of Bath Road, Quarry Bank, was sent to prison for six weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing a handbag, worth £34.99, from TX Maxx, Brierley Hill, on April 13 and having an article with her for use in connection with theft. She was given a 28 day curfew and for the duration must remain at her home address between 7pm and 7am. She must pay a victim surcharge of £80 and £180 court costs.

Jamie William Dakin, aged 19, of Farm Road, Netherton, was discharged conditionally for 18 months for stealing trainers, worth £39.99, from TK Maxx, Brierley Hill, on April 14. He must pay compensation of £39.99, a victim surcharge of £15 and £180 court costs.

Michael Alan Taylor, aged 40, of Highfield Lane, Halesowen, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for entering a flat in Halesowen as a trespasser and stealing two skateboards, worth £150, on September 28. He must pay a victim surcharge of £15 and £85 court costs.

Ruth Victoria Tait, aged 39, of Coppice Avenue, Stourbridge, was sent to prison for 20 weeks, suspended for two years, for stealing cosmetics, worth £21.97, from Boots, Brierley Hill, on March 9, and cheesecake and cookies, worth £72, from The Foley Arms public house, Stourbridge, on February 9, while subject to a conditional discharge. She must pay a victim surcharge of £80 and £150 court costs.

Kelvin Stuart Wakeman, aged 29, of Vicarage Road, Lye, was sent to prison for four weeks for stealing shower gel, worth £32, from Day Night Pharmacy, Lye, on February 12.

Carl Andrew Donnelly, aged 31, of Boundray Hill, Lower Gornal, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for obstructing a police officer in the execution of duty in Sedgley on November 8, 2014. He must pay a victim surcharge of £15 and £250 court costs.

Steven Andrew Sydney Maybury, aged 20, of Heath Street, Stourbridge, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for assaulting a man in Stourbridge on March 24. He must pay a victim surcharge of £15.

Steven David Rose, aged 31, of High Street, Lye, was given a six month community order for assaulting a man and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and driving without insurance in Halesowen on November 26, 2014. He was also sentenced for causing £400 worth of damage to a vehicle in Brierley Hill on December 29, 2014 and failing to surrender to custody at Dudley Magistrates Court on March 26, having been released on bail. He was given six penalty points and a three month curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 9am and 7am. He must pay compensation of £500, a victim surcharge of £60 and £200 court costs.

Allan Weaver, aged 53, of Corron Hill, Halesowen, was fined £165 for driving without insurance in Dudley on March 27, 2014. He was given six penalty points and must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £450 court costs.

Anthony David Hastings, aged 40, of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, was fined £400 for littering in Dudley on August 21, 2014. He must pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £40 and £875 court costs.

Steven John Smith, aged 31, of Beech Close, Sedgley, was fined £75 for causing £300 worth of damage to a door at McDonald’s, Dudley, on April 3. He must pay compensation of £300, a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Michael Gregory, aged 39, of Copse Road, Netherton, was given a 12 month community order for assaulting two police officers in Brierley Hill on March 21. He must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Christian Adam O’Donnell, aged 40, of Albert Street, Lye, was given a 12 month community order for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that violence would be used against them, in Colley Gate, on January 16. He must pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.
