POLICE in Dudley are searching for two men who attacked a woman in an alleyway and tried to steal her mobile phone.

The incident took place at around 9.05am on Monday, May 11, as the 22-year-old walked through the alley between Love Lane and High Street in Dudley.

Two men approached her from behind, pushed her to the floor, and one held her down, while the other tried to steal her phone.

The woman screamed and a passer-by walked into the alleyway, causing the two men to run off.

Acting Detective Sergeant Nick Slym from Dudley police said: “We believe one of the offenders was a black man, wearing tracksuit bottoms and distinctive light or sky blue Nike Air Max trainers. Unfortunately there is no description of the other man.

“This was a nasty attack on a woman as she walked down a town centre alleyway and I’m appealing for anyone who saw the attempted robbery or anyone who saw the two men running off afterwards to contact me on 101 or call Crimestoppers, confidentially on 0800 555 111."
