A Kidderminster man who terrified householders in the town and in the Black Country in a series of raids has been jailed for 45 months at Worcester Crown Court.

Unemployed building worker Kenneth Wyatt pleaded guilty to 21 burglaries, ten attempted burglaries, one going equipped for theft, ten handling stolen property and two charges of possession of heroin.

Filming has got underway in Dudley for a major new movie starring Hollywood A listers including Glenn Close.

The Fatal Attraction actress is starring alongside Bond girl Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine in the new big budget post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller She Who Brings Gifts.

Based on M.R. Carey's best selling 2014 novel The Girl With All Gifts, the film is set a generation after the world has ended and Dudley had several derelict locations that fitted the bill.

Meanwhile, a vicious Rowley Regis thug has been jailed for fracturing a man's skull during a beating which was sparked by a row over noise in Halesowen.

Jack Sutton's victim Luke Brittain also suffered bleeding on the brain and now has restricted hearing, taste, a stammer and is unsteady on his feet.

The 26-year-old unemployed roofer was been put behind bars for 18 months at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

In Stourbridge, glassmakers are gearing up for this year’s International Festival of Glass - which kicks off on Thursday (May 28).

Exhibits set to sparkle at the four-day event include a giant wall of 180 glass postcards - created by members of the Contemporary Glass Society as a tribute to the humble, old-fashioned picture postcard.

Meanwhile a Bromsgrove man responsible for running a drugs ring in Redditch has been jailed at Worcester Crown Court.

Martin Trowman, aged 31, who was said to be considering setting up a similar organisation in Bromsgrove, was sentenced to seven years.
