AMATEUR wildlife photographers need to snap to it if they want to meet the deadline for Dudley Zoo's 2016 calendar competition.

Visitors who have captured the popular tourist attraction’s animals on camera can enter up to two images, which will be judged by zoo photographer, Jason Scarratt.

He will pick out a balanced representation across the various sections – big cats, ungulates, reptiles, primates and birds – to come up with the 13 best images, one for each month and one for the front cover.

Andrea Hales, the zoo's marketing manager, said: "We’ve got a great group of amateur snappers who are members and regular visitors and the pictures they post on social media sites are wonderful.

“Let’s hope both our regulars and newcomers send in some spectacular shots to make our 2016 calendar really special.”

Proceeds from next year's calendar sales will be given to Painted Dog Conservation in Zimbabwe.

Entries should be sent to photos@dudleyzoo.org.uk by June 30.
