A NETHERTON window fitter has been cleared of attempting to murder a 23-year-old man outside a Dudley pub.
Darren Edwards, aged 36, of Kilburn Place, was accused of stabbing Christopher Perkins several times after a punch up outside The Earl of Dudley Arms in Wellington Road.
Wolverhampton Crown Court was told Mr Perkins was hospitalised for five days after he suffered a collapsed lung, a laceration to his other lung and a cut to the sac surrounding his heart.
But Mr Edwards, who pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and a second charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, maintained throughout the trial that he was not responsible for Mr Perkins' injuries.”
After hearing all of the evidence, the five man-seven woman jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts on both charges.
