HIMLEY Hall will be opening the doors to rooms that are usually closed to the public during evening guided tours.

The specially organised guided tours will take visitorsthrough unseen rooms, from the servants' quarters to the cellars, the butler’s sitting room and the Earl of Dudley’s bedrooms.

The newly refurbished North Wing, complete with an Art Deco-style swimming pool room and cinema bar, can also be viewed and visitors will get an insight into the life and times of Himley Hall during the 20th Century.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “Himley has such a colourful past that there is a strong local fascination with its history.

"It’s truly an asset to the borough.

"Every time the Hall offers guided tours we learn something new of the hall’s history.”

The tours run until September and cost £7.20 per person including tea, coffee and biscuits.

Booking is essential as places are limited.

Tours start between 7.15pm and 7.30pm and can be booked by calling Himley Hall on 01384 817 817.
