A RARE opportunity to learn about the practice of mindfulness introduced by a Vietnamese zen master is being offered to the Dudley borough community.

The Miracle of Mindfulness – a retreat with the monastic community of zen master Thich Nhat Hanh – will take place at Old Swinford Hospital School, in Stourbridge, between August 24 and 29.

Thich Nhat Hanh, known as Thay to his students, is a renowned monk, poet and peace activist who introduced the concept of mindfulness to the west 40 years ago with his book ‘The Miracle of Mindfulness - a Handbook for Meditation.

The retreat is being organised and run by the UK Community of Interbeing network of the Thay’s students and teachers across the country.

Retreat places are available to borough residents on a non-residential basis.
