A WIDE range of activities, summer schools and family fun days will take place at borough museums throughout the rest of the month as the Juniors at Museums (JAM) club continues.

Activities are on offer for borough youngsters to enjoy at Broadfield House Glass Museum, The Red House Glass Cone and Dudley Museum and Art Gallery during their six week break.

Broadfield House will be hosting the Oodles of Doodles exhibition throughout the holidays, featuring fun, quirky pieces of glass inspired by the doodles of celebrities including Raymond Blanc, Lenny Henry and Emma Thompson.

The free 1940s weekend returns to the Red House Glass Cone on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, complete with costumed re-enactors, vintage stalls and 1940s music.

The cone will also be hosting a bookable holiday glass crafts school for children over the age of 8 on Monday, July 27, with a theme of by the sea. The session takes place between 9.30am and 3.30pm and costs £22.50 per child.

Dudley Museum and Art Gallery features a drop-in bugs and butterflies craft day on Thursday, July 30, running between 10.30am and 3.30pm and costs £2.30 per child.

Dudley Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member responsible for museums, said: “This is busiest programme of JAM activities we’ve ever had.

“There’s lots on offer for all ages and I’m sure that local children will enjoy taking part in the craft activities and family fun days on offer.”

Broadfield House Glass Museum is open between noon and 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday, and bank holidays. Dudley Museum is open between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday, but closed on bank holidays. Red House Glass Cone is open 10am until 4pm daily, including bank holidays. Admission to all sites is free.
