WITH the school holidays come the roadworks.

But other than roadworks, there is nothing else reported wrong with the roads in the Black Country and North Worcestershire this morning, minus one broken down vehicle on the M5 Southbound, between Junction 10 A454 (Walsall/Wolverhampton) and Junction 9 A461 (Wednesbury). This is in the roadworks area and traffic is moving slow.

Here are the roads that are currently closed or affected by roadworks in the area:

  • A4535 Sutton Road, Kidderminster, is closed due to resurfacing work
  • A449 Chester Road North, Kidderminster, is closed due to gas main work
  • B4189 Wolverly Road, Kidderminster, is closed due to water main work
  • A44 at Worcester there are roadworks both ways at M5 Junction 7 island which have various restrictions in use at times including lane closures on the roundabout and on all approach roads
  • B4175 Stalling's Lane, Kingswinford, currently has temporary traffic lights and water main work
  • A46 Evesham, one lane closed due to roadworks on the roundabout
  • Sion Hill, Kidderminster, the road closed due to water main work
  • Priory Street, Dudley Town Centre, the road closed due to gas main work
  • Grainger's Lane, Cradley Heath, the road closed due to gas main work
  • Chawn Hill, Stourbridge, the road closed due to water main work
  • A448 Bromsgrove Highway is closed due to resurfacing work at A4189 Warwick Highway Cloverleaf Island. This is affecting traffic travelling from Bromsgrove towards Redditch and will be closed until August 7
  • B4090 Hanbury Road, for Droitwich, expect delays due to temporary traffic lights at The Holloway until August 8
  • A456 Kidderminster Road, Hagley, a convoy is in place at A491 Stourbridge Road/B4187 Park Road
  • A451 Kidderminster Ring Road, Kidderminster, one lane closed due to roadworks
  • A451 Stourport Road Kidderminster, temporary traffic lights
  • Church Bank Wolverley, Kidderminster, road closed due to water main work

  • Mount Lane, Clent, both ways closed due to roadworks between Odnall Lane and Adam's Hill

And if you're travelling on the motorways today, all those surrounding the Black Country and North Worcestershire seem to be without incident, minus that one mentioned earlier. However, there are some ongoing works on the M6 which may slow you down during peak times. One lane is closed on Southbound at link road to M42 North carriageway due to roadworks, the exit slip road at Junction 9 is closed due to major work, and where the motorway meets the M5, work to replace the waterproof layer and repair potholes with the link road from the M6 south onto the M5 down to a single lane. This single lane restriction is due to be in place until November 20.
