A court was told a woman who stole to feed her family after her benefits were sanctioned last year, had to commit crimes again after her money was stopped a second time.

On July 7, Lucy Hill stole more than £150 worth of children's clothing from TK Maxx, in Kidderminster.

Hill pleaded guilty to theft when she appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court.

The widow of the Rowley Regis telecoms engineer killed at work has revealed they only had been married a week.

Matthew Harding, a 27-year-old father of two, was working for Virgin Media on a communications box when a Citroen Picasso hit him and a colleague.

Devastated widow Danielle Harding was with him when he died in hospital.

Meanwhile, a grandmother caught smuggling an iPhone wrapped inside a package of "legal highs" into HMP Hewell has been given a suspended jail sentence.

A specially trained sniffer dog alerted officers at the Tardebigge prison to the suspicious package carried by 50-year-old Tina Richards, Worcester Crown Court was told.

Richards was given a 28 week sentence, suspended for 12 months.
