BLACK Country historians are invited to take a walk down memory lane and discover more about a town described as “one of the premier towns of the Midlands” during its heyday.

Author and local historian Terry Price will be launching his eighth history book, entitled West Bromwich Remembered, on Saturday (September 26) at Wesley Methodist Church in High Street, West Bromwich.

The book features more than 300 photographs, which Mr Price has used to record people, scenes and events that were significant to the town over the last 100 years – with a whole chapter devoted to schooldays, featuring 24 schools.

Mr Price will be at the launch from 9.30am to 4pm and will sign copies of the hardback book that will be available to buy at a reduced price of £9.99 (normally £16.99).

Those who purchase a book at the event will make a saving of £7 and Mr Price will be donating a percentage of the proceeds to Black Country charities.

Those who are unable to attend the launch will soon be able to loan a copy as eight copies will be available at Dudley borough libraries.
