MANY Dudley residents were left in the dark last night (Monday) due to a technical glitch with the street light system.
Streets in Sedgley, Kates Hill, Russells Hall, Dudley, Kingswinford and Coseley were left unlit for hours while Dudley Council’s engineers worked to resolve the problem.
Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environmental services, said: “A technical issue with the automated street light management system meant that residential street lights across the north of the borough did not come on for a few hours last night.
“Council engineers responded quickly to resolve the computer error with the streets lit just after midnight.
“We are working with the software company to find out the cause of the technical issue and make sure it is resolved.”
