THE victim of the fatal attack at an Oldbury nightspot has been named as 49-year-old Inderjit Singh Ghriwal.
He died yesterday after suffering serious head injuries when he was assaulted during an argument at Samsons Banqueting Suite in the early hours of Sunday.
Two men arrested by police on suspicion of murder are still being questioned.
Mr Ghriwal came from Langley, Oldbury, and was attending a charity function at the premises in Rood End Road, but police have not released any other details about him.
A member of staff at Samsons said security staff ejected people who were arguing. It is understood the assault, which happened at about 2am, took place outside.
Mr Ghriwal was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he died. A post mortem was taking place today.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
