POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was seriously injured after being hit by a lorry in Brierley Hill.
The 70-year-old man was taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious head and chest injuries after the collision in Hurst Lane, near to Merry Hill shopping centre, yesterday morning (Wednesday).
His condition is described as stable.
Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened at 10.15am, to contact them.
PC Damian Gibson said: “I would like to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to a police officer.
“Please contact us so that we can establish how this man came about his injuries.
“The driver of the lorry has been spoken to and is co-operating fully with the investigation team”.
