A NEWBORN Stourport baby’s death is being investigated by a hospital trust, following a dispute over which medical department the infant should have been treated in.

The BBC has reported that paramedics took the child to A&E at Worcestershire Royal Hospital after the baby was born suddenly at home in Stourport on January 23.

DUDLEY hospital chiefs are bracing themselves for junior doctors to take to the picket lines for another strike starting tomorrow (Wednesday February 10).

The British Medical Association has notified the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust that it intends to call junior medics out on industrial action starting from 8am tomorrow until 8am on Thursday February 11.

WEST Midlands fire investigators are inquiring into a fatal house fire on Coriander Close, Frankley after a tumble dryer caught fire.

The fire took place in the downstairs kitchen at the rear of a two-storey semi-detached house where a woman’s body was found.

A VIOLENT Halesowen spurned lover who brutally attacked his former partner just days after she had ended their five year relationship has been jailed for one year and nine months.

Lee Astley had been given his marching orders by the woman because of his violent behaviour and she later told police officers: "I felt like a slave to him. He terrified and abuse me."
