A WIDE range of activities, summer schools and family fun days will take place with the Juniors at Museums (JAM) club this half term.

Activities are on offer at two Dudley Council museum sites – The Red House Glass Cone, in Wordsley, and Dudley Museum and Art Gallery – for borough youngsters to enjoy during their week-long break.

The JAM club events include free family trails where children can hunt for clues around the venues, will be available from tomorrow (February 13) until next Sunday (February 21) at the cone and until next Saturday (February 20) at Dudley.

There’s also free, drop-in Sticky Saturday sessions running between 1.30pm and 3.30pm tomorrow at Dudley Museum, while it will be at the cone next Saturday, where kids get the chance to have a go at a craft and get messy and sticky.

Dudley Museum is continuing its popular Family Film Club tomorrow at 11am, and is also hosting a drop-in ‘out of this world’ family crafts day on Thursday (February 18) from 10.30am until 3.30pm where families can take part in a range of craft activities for £2.35 per child, without the need to book.

Over at the Red House Glass Cone, on Monday (February 15), youngsters aged 8 to 12 can enrol in a day-long space themed holiday school from 9.30am until 3.30pm, as well as taking part in a range of crafts, under the safe guidance of museum education staff. Places cost £23 and must be booked and paid for in advance.

There’s also the chance to make fused glass aliens at the cone on Wednesday (February 17) with bookable £4 sessions at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Dudley Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member responsible for museums said: “This is a really busy programme for half-term, with lots of free activities included.

“Parents looking for something to do during the holiday are sure to find something to suit their youngsters.”

Dudley Museum is open between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday, but closed on bank holidays. Red House Glass Cone is open 10am until 4pm daily, including bank holidays. Admission to all sites is free.
