THIS is what Dudley's newest town centre car park will look like.
Dudley planners gave the green light to plans to create around 90 new parking spaces by demolishing the derelict Mahoe Building.
The building will be knocked down this summer, opening up views of the nearby grade II listed Baylies' Hall.
Recently the Tower Street building has been used by Dudley Council for storage, with other past uses including a banqueting suite, nightclub, banquet hall and printworks.
Councillor Andrea Goddard told Monday's development control committee meeting: "There have been numerous uses for this building and nothing has worked. I think a car park would be the best option."
"It's important that we have more car parking in the town centre," added Councillor Keiran Casey.
While the demolition is under way, the council will work on designs and putting together a funding package for the car park.
