A DUDLEY church has bagged £20,000 to fund urgent repairs.
The grant was awarded to St Thomas and St Luke Church by the National Churches Trust.
The religious building, known fondly as Top Church, will use the cash to repair one of the cast iron window frames, replace the existing entrance with a glazed door and investigate and fix the blocked below ground drainage for rain water disposal.
Ladders and catwalks will be installed to allow safe access on to the roof and tower, so the building can be maintained safely.
Some of the funding will also be spent on a community open day on July 9, which will run from 11am to 4pmin conjunction with the Churches Conservation Trust.
Activities on offer will include birds of prey displays, football-themed activities and crafts.
