FOOTBALL mad pupils from Stourbridge's Old Swinford Hospital helped raise more than £400 for the newborn baby unit at Russells Hall Hospital.
The students pulled out all the stops to beat their teachers in the annual Staff v Leavers charity match where the Year 13s finished up 5-3 winners.
They raised the money by selling tickets for the match and then supplied refreshments throughout the game.
Last year proceeds went towards buying a 'cold cot' at Birmingham City Hospital but this time pupils nominated Russells Hall and its neonatal unit.
The money will be used to buy specialist equipment such as gel packs, a type of bedding which moulds to the shape of a newborn body to provide support and retain body heat.
