A PARALYMPIC star will give a Black Country goalball team some top tips when he joins them for a training session.

The Beacon Bullets will welcome Team GB goalball player Caleb Nanevie and representatives from Goalball UK, to their Wednesday evening session.

Goalball is a sport for athletes with visual impairments and is played by two teams of three using a ball with bells inside.

The ball is the size of a basketball but twice the weight.

The team, run by Sedgley sight loss charity, Beacon Centre, meets between 5pm and 7pm at Dormston School, Mill Bank.

Sessions are free to attend and open to beginners who would like to find out more about the sport.

Tim Jukes, the centre's enablement and employment officer, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Caleb and Goalball UK.

"Our team already do really well but we are hoping this visit will provide even more inspiration.”

Anyone who would like to join the team should call 01902 880 111 or email tjukes@beaconvision.org.
