POLICE are treating the death of a 55-year-old Kidderminster man who died in hospital as suspicious, and have made an arrest.

An ambulance was called to a property in Offmore Road at around 8.30pm on Friday, March 24, and found the man with serious head injuries. The man, who has not been named by police, was taken to hospital where he died on Saturday (March 25).

A MAN who tried to buy an expensive mobile phone from a Merry Hill store using counterfeit notes has been locked up for three years.

Patrick McCarthy was working with an accomplice and together they tried to spend £1,280 using forged notes in the Vodaphone shop, Wolverhampton Crown Court was told. But the 23-year-old traveller was rumbled when staff became suspicious and he was detained until police arrived.

A MAN was taken to hospital following a suspected electric shock from a cooker in Bromsgrove.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Elm Grove, just after 3pm on Sunday afternoon (March 26). A 55-year-old man was treated by West Midlands Ambulance Service for pain in his right arm.

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and drink-driving following a crash on the A448 between Redditch and Bromsgrove.

The driver was caught by an off duty police officer after allegedly trying to flee the scene. The Worcestershire Operations Patrol Unit tweeted this picture of the damaged car on the A448 between Redditch and Bromsgrove on Sunday morning (March 26).

A CHARITY concert is being held at Halesowen’s Cornbow Hall this weekend in honour of 22-year-old man who is fighting stage three brain cancer.

Adam Knight has undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy as doctors try to defeat the cancerous tumour in his brain. His brother Michael has organised the show, called One Knight Only, for Sunday in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
