BLACK Country entertainers will team up to raise cash for the Mayor of Dudley’s charities.

Dudley Folk will be held at Cable Plaza at Waterfront West, Brierley Hill, on Saturday, May 6.

The stellar line up includes The Boonyeds - two fictional factory workers with a view on the world with comedic results.

Described as the Black Country Likely Lads, writers of The Boonyeds use storytelling and song writing to unravel the real issues affecting society as they see it.

So It Goes, which combines the poetic and songwriting talents of Tipton-born author Brendan Hawthorne, now Poet laureate of Wednesbury and Kerry Halford singer/songwriter from Dudley, will also take to the stage.

Grand Valaise, John Langford, David Coughlin, Good Traditions, Scott and Tom Stanton, Ken ‘Elvis’ Wakefield and Missing Link will also perform.

The event starts at 3pm and will finish around 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 in advance or are £12 on the door and are available by emailing suzylimesrdc@hotmail.co.uk or b.dakin@aston.ac.uk or calling 07412 531924.

Councillor Mohammed Hanif, Mayor of Dudley, said: “I would like to thank all of the performers who have agreed to spend their time with us to help raise money for my three deserving charities.

“I would encourage people to come along for a fun-filled and entertaining show. Everyone is welcome.”

The charities that will benefit from the event are Friends of Alfie Johnson, Dudley CIL and Diabetes UK Dudley branch.
