A POET will take a four month residency at Dudley libraries.

Roy McFarlane will will be performing across the borough as part of the Arts Council England-funded Adopt A Poet scheme.

The former Birmingham Poet Laureate, who has lived in Wolverhampton for most of his life, will be at Gornal Library next Wednesday (April 26) for an interactive poetry workshop from 2pm.

He will be back at the library at 7pm, performing his poetry.

Roy will join forces with canal poet laureate Jo Bell, at Long Lane Library in Halesowen, next Friday (April 28).

He will perform with Jo, who has appeared on TV in adverts for Nationwide, again on May 31, but this time at Stourbridge Library.

Finally, the poet will be at Cradley Library on July 11 from 10.15am, where he will be discussing his first full collection of poems, Beginning With Your Last Breath, which is due to be published later this year.
