GENEROUS Black Country shoppers have helped make this year's Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal a "great success".

The month-long appeal, which launched on March 1, saw volunteers armed with collection tins visit town centres, swapping donations for daffodil pins.

In Dudley, £392.20 was raised, while in Stourbridge, shoppers in the Ryemarket Shopping Centre donated £632.66.

The cash will help the charity's nurses provide vital care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones, in their own homes.

Rachel Nash, one of the charity's community fundraisers, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone in Dudley for helping to make every daffodil count this March."
