A BRIERLEY Hill-founded family jewellers has announced it will be the platinum sponsor of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s Recognition Awards and Charity Ball taking place on Friday (June 30).

Hosted by Jason Donovan and Nina Hossain, the charity’s annual event will recognise the incredible stories of bravery, inspiration and lifesaving work of the aircrew.

It also promotes the incredible support of its volunteers, fundraisers and corporate partners who will be honoured for their loyalty and fundraising.

Jewellers TH Baker, which is giving its support to the Lye-based charity’s annual celebrations, was founded in Brierley Hill in 1888, but now has 33 stores across the UK overseen by chairman Alan Higgs, great grandson of TH Baker founder Thomas Henry Baker.

Phil Higgs, managing director of TH Baker, said: “We have supported Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s Recognition Awards and Charity Ball in a variety of ways for the last few years, and we’re really looking forward to playing such a big part in this year’s event.

“As well as presenting an award, we will also provide gifts for all the guests with a special sparkling surprise to be revealed on the night.”

Sofia Voutianitis, corporate partnerships manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, adds: “Without the support from local businesses like TH Baker, we simply wouldn’t be able to undertake the 2,000 air ambulance missions every year that we are called out to.

“We are truly grateful for their support of our Recognition Awards and Charity Ball which promises to be a sensational evening raising vital funds for the charity.”

The prestigious ball will start with a drinks reception, complete with live music and the arrival of two of the service’s three famous air ambulance helicopters.

Guests will be treated to a four-course meal, followed by an auction, luxury raffle, further live entertainment and DJ set.

Several of the charity’s celebrity and sporting ambassadors will also be joining in with the celebrations and will help to get the party get started.

A very limited number of tickets are still available for the event, by calling 0800 840 2040 or emailing jo.bailey@midlandsairambulance.com.
