A SEDGLEY sight loss charity has relaunched its popular opticians service.

The Beacon Centre’s opticians, the first accredited social enterprise opticians in the country, has moved to a new location within the Wolverhampton Road East headquarters.

Tracey Ford, the charity's head of enterprise operations, said: "Because of its success, we thought we would relocate downstairs, nearer to our charity shop, to make it more accessible for service users and the general public.

"Moving downstairs has also given us more shop floor space and allowed us to have a separate dispensary area."

"It is open to everybody and is the same as other high street opticians, we offer eye tests, can do camera images to check on eye condition and we have a shop which sells a wide range of frames.

"All profits from the opticians are ploughed back into the Beacon Centre to help others with sight loss

The new look venture was opened on Wednesday by 100-year-old Viv Rollinson, who has been visiting the Beacon Centre for the last seven years.
