A YOUNG Kidderminster judo champ has spoken of the frightening moment she was awoken by gunshots during the Spanish terror attacks.

Darcie Hancocks was at her hotel in the seaside resort of Cambrils in the early hours of Friday (August 18) morning when Spanish police opened fire on five suspected terrorists.

A MAN had to be taken to hospital in the early hours of Friday morning (August 18) after suffering from a stab injury in Netherton.

Police were called to reports of a disorder in Halesowen Road at 12.20am and found the man injured.

A SELF-centred Cradley Heath man with "an unhealthy obsession with weapons" has been jailed for life after he viciously stabbed his loving partner to death with a swordstick.

Judge James Burbidge QC told 55-year-old Ronald Cooke he had made much of Tina Billingham's recent life a misery before plunging the swordstick twice into her body in temper.
