A SEDGELY super slimmer has been crowned 'Woman of the Year' by her weight loss group.

Emma Whitehouse has lost almost six stones since she started her Slimming World journey on New Year's Eve.

The mum-of-two, who once weighed more than 21 stones and wore a size 26, has now slimmed down to a size 14.

She has been branded "an inspiration" by her fellow slimmers, who said she makes following the plan "look easy".

"My problem was that I'd skip breakfast and sometimes lunch and then pick at biscuits and anything else I could get my hands on after I had my tea," the 26-year-old said.

But after attending the weekly Saturday morning meetings at Roberts Primary School, Lower Gornal, she developed a healthier relationship with food.

"I love this plan because it doesn't feel like a diet, once you get your head around how it works, it's really straightforward.

"My favourite thing to make is a 'fakeaway' doner kebab. I think it's better than the ones you get from the chip shop and you know what's in it!"

Although Emma said she would like to lose another two-and-a-half stones, she recently had a huge confidence boost when she was picked as her group's woman of the year.

The retail worker said: "I was really shocked to be honest. I couldn't believe people had voted for me but it was lovely.

"Everyone always says I'm an inspiration and make it look so easy. When I show them my 'before' pictures they can't believe it."
